At the beginning of July the choir took part in the annual Songs of Praise at Neyland Marina Gardens singing two items - This Little Light of Mine and the fabulous Welsh hymn, Lausanne.
On 11th July the ladies shared the Torch Theatre stage with Milford Haven Town Band and thoroughly enjoyed the joint item at the end of the evening in the form of a Mary Poppins medley. The following morning was the final engagement of the summer when the choir took part in the Neyland Civic Service. The ladies performed the Neyland Town Anthem and the beautiful Benedictus before joining the mayoral procession through the town. The choir, Musical Director, Lynne Kelleher and Accompanist, Peter Griffiths are now taking a well earned break for the summer recess. The choir will begin rehearsals again on Wednesday 2nd September. If you are interested in joining our wonderful choir, please do not hesitate to contact us via the contact page or any of our social media feeds.
The St. Clements Easter Service was a wonderful community event, supported by ourselves and the Community Orchestra led by Mr. Mark Jones. The orchestra was made up of locals, with a wide age range. They played their pieces beautifully and also accompanied the congregational hymns. We sang two individual pieces, 'God So Loved the World' and 'Easter Song of Praise', which were well received by all those who attended the service.
Our thanks go out to our MD, Lynne and pianist Peter, as well as to Mark for helping us to achieve such a fabulous concert and service for the Church and community.
The final concert in Biscarrosse Theatre was arranged by the choir ‘Desordre Vocal’ and La Voix de Losa, and Noreen and Trish Campodonic were asked to attend an interview for the local radio station FGL as part of the promotion for the concert. The concert was enjoyed by a packed audience and the evening ended with the three choirs joining together to sing ‘All Through the Night’ in Welsh, English and French. Afterwards a reception was hosted by the choirs when Noreen thanked everyone for the warm welcome extended to the tour party and hoped that the friendships made will last for many years to come.
The hospitality the group received was overwhelming and so much effort had been put in to the planning of the week by both the choir’s tour committee and the contacts in France. On Saturday 31st January the choir took part in the Light up a Light event at Picton Castle for the Paul Sartori Foundation. The choir, led by musical director Lynne Kelleher and accompanied by Peter Griffiths, opened with a beautiful rendition of ‘Benedictus’ followed by ‘In Flanders Fields’. The second half of the programme started with ‘Be Thou My Vision’ and the ladies then sang the beautiful Welsh hymn ‘Lausanne’. The choir and the audience joined together for the final item ‘You Raise me Up’ and also lit candles in remembrance of loved ones who have used the services of the Foundation.
