The Choir celebrated their 40th Anniversary with a dinner dance at Plas Hyfryd in Narberth on 20th October. Choir Chairlady Janet Knight welcomed almost 90 people to the event and paid tribute to Choir Secretary Janice Spearing for the organisation of the evening. The choir were honoured to welcome their President and current Mayor of Neyland Cllr Dr Simon Hancock as well as the Mayor of Milford Haven, Cllr Colin Sharp, and his consort. Choir members both past and present, their families and invited guests enjoyed a 3 course meal followed by an after dinner speech by the Rev Huw George. Huw had everyone laughing with tales of his experiences as a young singer in St Davids in the early 1970s and his more recent time as a Baptist minister. This was followed by dancing to the Flat Cappers. The ‘boys’ in the band had everyone up and dancing to music from the 60s and 70s. It was a very enjoyable evening and a fitting tribute to the dedication of the choir members and their supporters of the last 40 years. Musical Director Lynne Kelleher and Accompanist Peter Griffiths cut the celebration cake at the end of the dinner.
